On Behalf of  Equity and Inclusion, Multicultural Life, and Augsburg University, we are excited to bring you the 39th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Convocation on January 19, 2026. This year’s theme is “Building Community: Who is My Neighbor?”

This year’s event is dedicated exclusively to the Augsburg University community. Only students, alumni, faculty, and staff will be able to attend in-person. The event is not open to the public.

Keynote Speaker: Marcia Howard

Marcia Howard is an English teacher at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis, where she has taught since 1998. She has been one of the key leaders in the George Floyd Square occupation and is currently the president of the teacher chapter of the Minneapolis Federation of Educators, Local 59.
